MICRO TOURS >> ARTISANS OF VERRACO
From its earliest beginnings the City of Santiago de Cuba has played host to artisans (2) and artists, musicians and dancers. A country drive will take you to the Artisan's Village (2) at Verraco where you can meet the artists in their own studios. This unique setting for the development of the crafts and art provides a community setting for artists to live and work. Started over 25 years ago it is now the home of some of the country's leading artisans and artists whose work appears in public and private spaces in Cuba and around the world. The artists and artisans will welcome you into their homes, studios and galleries, providing a unique opportunity to see work in progress, learn about the process of craft, and see the finished products. On our way to the Village we will visit the Sculpture Park with its collection of major installations by artists from many countries. We will lunch at a paladar before returning to Santiago de Cuba. You will be provided with refreshments during the morning tour. |
