MICRO TOURS >> GARDENS OF THE CLOUDS, DESERT, AND FOREST
An exciting one day tour of three of Eastern Cuba's most interesting botanical gardens. An air-conditioned ride will take you from Santiago to gardens of the Clouds, Desert and Forests. Your guides are local garden experts whose lifework have been their gardens. High on the Gran Piedra, amid a cloud forest of giant ferns and orchids, you will visit a Bird of Paradise Nursery and tour the high altitude gardens. Fragrant hedges circle beds of roses, gladioli and camellias. Every path provides a vista of mountains and plain. From the clouds to the desert is a short drive. The Santiago's leading cactus expert will be your guide. The Cactus garden is home to both indigenous cactus and those from around the world. This desert garden has the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Sierra Maestra on the other. After lunch we will make a gentle afternoon as we continue explore a world of orchids and ferns. The life work of the Director, this garden is acknowledged around the world for its contribution to the world of ferns, not a few of which have been discovered in Cuba. |
